first of all most rasta will be offended by the way you spell, it is rastafari no ism ever and is offending to most to break emperor haile sellasie name half way through him name, before he was crowned the emperor of Ethiopia, haile sellasie was ras (prince) tafari, and that's where the name is from
rasta believe that haile sellasie is a son of jah and reincarnation of Jesus Christ

where i and i from in Aotearoa (named New Zealand by Babylon) we usually celebrate the same except is on haile sellasie birthday though we still celebrate the day he visited Jamaica
occasionaly we all get together to smoke ganja and I'm sure that is a practice :-) it is very spiritual and once from it jah has spoke to me
ive heard of a rasta who will shave his head if a loved one has died but i cant say that is true for many rasta
