Besides major things to conserve energy (eco-friendly car, solar panels, ect.), there are plenty of simple things that people can do to conserve energy...

*Shut lights off

*Don't leave water running

*Shut off the TV, radio, computer, etc.

*Recycle (bottles, can, papers, glass, etc)

*Walk or ride a bike

*Carpool or use public transportation

*Lower the heat in the winter by a few degrees

*Open a window in the summer instead of turning on the air conditioning

*Wash clothes in cold water, instead of hot water (if possible)

*Don't let the water run while doing the dishes any more than necessary

*Take shorter showers

There are plenty of ways to help conserve energy. Some simple ones are to turn off the lights when you leave a room, unplug things when they're not in use, shut off your car (don't let it idle), carpool or use public transportation or walk / ride your back to cut down on furl consumption, and to recycle. Many also choose to switch to using energy-efficient appliances (like stoves and washing machines) along with energy-efficient light bulbs. If possible, some people switch to using wind or solar energy, too.
By insulating homes well, using low energy lamps, using small cars, not flying, and generally not doing too much. Sitting reading a book is a low energy pastime for example.
