I'll just give you some key points on the topic:
-This was during Castro's reign in Cuba
-The Soviet Union had been doing all these things for Cuba, so they basically asked Castro, "hey, can we put some missiles on your land and aim them at the US...just in case we ever need to use them" and you have to remember that both the USSR and Cuba are not digging the US right now.
-So we are getting suspicious of Cuba, so we fly some planes over to check to make sure everything is doing alright, and what do we see but missiles?
-We do not like this one bit, but luckily, Kennedy was able to get the missiles removed from cuba.
-One of the biggest things to keep in mind: If they would have used their missiles, we would not be here right now.
and imagine the state of panic that everyone was in because of this issue.
hope that helps!
No. That was what led to the crisis. The crisis was that Russia was putting some nuclear missiles in Cuba as a deterrent to the bombings.
Since it was successful (no war & missiles removed); there are no negative aspects about it.
The first Space walk Cuban Missile crisis
1-could start a world war 2-cubans would've died
No... It was mainly US, Russia, and Cuba. Some minor places were West Germany, Italy, and Turkey.
Some examples of the political events that happened during the 1960â??s are the involvement of US in the war in Vietnam and the passing of the Civil Rights Act. Other examples are the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Voting Rights Act.
"Thirteen Days" presents a dramatized portrayal of the Cuban Missile Crisis, focusing on key events and decisions made by the Kennedy administration. While it captures the tension and urgency of the situation, some historians argue that it simplifies complex diplomatic interactions and character portrayals. Overall, it conveys the essence of the crisis effectively, though it may take creative liberties for dramatic effect.
that the u.s. sucessfuly defended their country and evaded a nuclear war. we had to raise our defconn to two though and that's the highest its ever been.
The Cuban missile crisis was the mark of the brink of world destruction. President Kennedy and Khrushchev were at the brink of war. However, JFK did some shuttle and backchannel diplomacy, thus avoiding destruction of the entire planet.
Can some pls tell me a debatable topic on the Cuban Missile crisis with two or points of view If your working on history day ill tell you one The debate between if the U.S. should attack Cuba or not Come to my message board if you want to know more or if you have information about wolves or things you would like to know about wolves
Well, I'm sure there is some way you can get to Cuba legally, but the main reason it is so hard is because of the Cuban Missile crisis, we aren't exactly on good terms with the Cubans.
The United states has only been at def con 2 once. This was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Some believe that we went to def con 2 during 9/11.
