What are some tips for playing COD2?

If going for kills:

1) Be stealthy and stay around enemy captured flags

2) If no enemies near flags then quickly run passed it until it says "capturing point bravo" or another point because at that time on the enemy team they here "loosing point bravo" and will run to protect it.

3) Watch the flags with long range weapons.

If going for objective:

1) Use a running class or have people with running classes and have overwatchers which are ACR/FAMAS/M16A4 users at medium range I.E the tanker and helicopter pad in Highrise and have Longrangers which are snipers within your spawn but protect the areas that can get in.

2) Call out when you see enemies running towards one of your defend points and call out enemies in general because you wont always be able to out shoot him.

3) Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork. If there isn't anyone willing to play objectives in the lobby back out and invite friends or retry because if just one guy is going objectives and 5 other guys are going for kills. It sounds easy. It isn't. And chances are the other team will pick up on that and use teamwork.
