Jeans! V-neck tshirts, or polo's for a nicer event. skater or Basketball type shoes for casual days depending on his style. In the summer golfer type shorts khakis, plaid, any other color shorts with a v neck or polo. They can wear dress pants with a long sleeve dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and dress shoes...more square toed than round.
This look is a little preppy but not too preppy... just normal.
