A Sultan is a Highest spiritual Religious Head of a Muslim State and usually a descendant of the Prophet of Islam. Succession is by blood lineage, kinship and heredity. Although the Prophet stated that if no bloodline is present, one may stand as Sultan so long as he could work for the unity and cohesion of a Muslim community and national statehood. The govt is a monarchy and the Sultan is its King. The Sultan by virtue owns his country, its lands and territories and its nation people are the Sultan's Raayats ot adherents. While a Sultan gets respect as considered the Highest Spiritual Leader of the land and respected not because of instilling fear but as capable and intelligent fellowman being like a father, judge and Lord of forgiveness or so-called Lord of adoption and guardianship.
