Your hamster usually is in heat when you pet it by its lower back. Your hamster then will slowly become stiff, point its tail up, hunch its back and will try to stick itself to the ground. This is not something to worry about, it happens to a lot of female hamsters. People also say this happens in a young age (1 and under) but that is not true. My hamster is about 1 and a half and it happens all the time. This also means they want a mate... now clearly that cant happen due to the fact if you gave her a mate she would most likely eat him. So why would a female want a mate if she will eat him? I'm not quite sure. But hamsters usually begin heating every 4-5 days no matter what age.
Hope I helped!
BTW when your hamster is in that hunched position, continue petting her. They like it.
For a female hamster you can only know when she is introduced to a male hamster. If the female hamster attacks the make it means she is not in heart and when she is she will accept the him and mate. A female hamster is usually on heat on every 4th day of the cycle.
I was told by my vet that they don't usually go into heat, it depends if you have a female on her own. I have a female Russian dwarf and she lives on her own and the vet said she wont go into heat.
To tell if your female hamster is in heat you can do 2 things. One, you can scratch above her tail and if she raises her tail and stays still she is in heat. Another way to tell is if she is running around her cage alot and has a foul Oder, remember, hamsters don't have periods but do release a slimey liquid if in heat.
When a female hamster goes into heat, it becomes extraordinarily smelly. Its scent glands will become clearly visible as the fur around them becomes damp.
i don't know if i get your question but i think that is urine.

It means that your hamster is above room temperature.
It depends on the hamster, so i dont know.
You don't, unless you know the female is in heat and ready to mate. Otherwise keep them apart at any other time.
You do not. Hamsters go into heat by a natural cycle all on their own.
What is a hamster that has no legs called? A furball.
If the female hamster is not on heat they will not mate, so just separate them until they're ready.
you get it
