Different rights are guaranteed throughout the Constitution, but the 5th amendment spells out the rights that protect against self incrimination.
The Constitution
Your rights are guaranteed under the Constitution of the United States. However, certain behaviors that one may choose to be involved in can "strip" that individual of his/her rights. Your fundamental rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness can be stripped if your action violate laws set in place by the government. This also extends to the right to vote, bear arms etc.

For the USA, the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is the first ten Amendments to the Constitution (although only the first eight amendments deal with specific individual rights).
The Bill of Rights were ratified in 1791, 4 years after the Constitutional Convention. The first 8 of these 10 amendments guaranteed various individual rights.
