lack of charisma. making a car uses more energy than a car will use in 40 to 50 years. therefore the most environmentally freindly option is to run an old car for as long as possible. hybrids use a lot of energy to manufacture, not very fuel efficient due to increased weight and have a relatively short lifespan.
so basically people buy them at the moment due to being misguided by advertising. I think I will stick to my old Pontiac and keep my carbon footprint lower.
