Nurse Practitioners are governed under the board of nursing of that state. The WI BON grants APRNs authority to practice and regulates them. APRN's are defined in WI as NP's, CNS's, CNM's, and CRNA's. NP's function under the Nurse Practice Act with a broad description of nursing practice. APRN may prescribe legend drugs and controlled substances as a delegated medical act under the NPA. APRN's may receive *Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber* authority from the BON.
