The Egyptian civilization around the Nile river, the Mesopotamian/Sumerian civilization around the Tigris and Euphrates, the Indus Valley civilization of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro around the Indus river, and the Chinese/Shang civilization around the Yellow river.
Early farming groups made permanent settlements in areas with fertile soil and access to water sources such as rivers or lakes. Examples of such areas include the Nile Valley in Egypt, the Tigris and Euphrates River valleys in Mesopotamia, the Indus River Valley in South Asia, and the Yellow River Valley in China. These settlements eventually developed into cities and led to the rise of complex societies.

History dictates the beginning of civilization started in mesopotamia, located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which is known to us as modern day Iraq.
Sounds to me like the Tigris and Euphrates would be prime examples. One might also consider the Yellow river and the Ganges, but those are more often considered South Asia because they're located in India.
