There are very few Jews in Iraq.

In October 2006, Rabbi Emad Levy, Baghdad's last Rabbi and one of about 12 members of the Jewish community remaining in the city at that time, compared his life to "living in a prison". He reported that most Iraqi Jews stay in their homes "out of fear of kidnapping or execution" due to sectarian violence.

As of 2010, there are an estimated 8 Iraqi Jews left.
