[ Pros and cons, in comparison with no keyboard access. ] Pros * You may chat with other players if in an online game such as World of Warcraft, Runescape, Toontown, and the like. Relatedly, some games require a keyboard to play. * You may enter information into databases (Such as WikiPedia, WikiAnswers) * Homework, schoolwork, or work-work can be done neatly using keyboard-required software. (Microsoft word, notepad) * The use of a keyboard can enable shortcuts with some programs. * Any information that needs to be entered into a computer, network, and/or etc. can be added with, usually, ease. Cons * Keyboards can add up in price. Wireless keyboards can get up to, but are not limited to, $125. * If not wireless, keyboards can add another wire (or more) to a bulk of other wires, making any workspace or leisurely-desk messy. * If wireless, there may be very slight interference on some rare frequency channels. * Multiple wireless keyboards may cross paths if settings are not set up correctly. (Resulting in a stunned, confused user)

Desp[ite the name, it is not a musical instrument, but a style of typewriter- and thus uprated to computer keyboard. There was one other variant, the German Adler, which operated differently than the standardized QWERT or ASDFJKLL; which is standardly taught, like Morse Code- as the normative keyboard.

What is it? The keyboard is the most widely used input device and is used to enter data or commands to the computer. It has a set of alphabet keys, a set of digit keys, and various function keys. The layout of the letters on a keyboard is standard across many countries and is called a QWERTY keyboard. The name comes from the first six keys on the top row of the alphabetic characters. Features: Keyboards can let you access functions on documents through their shortcuts. E.g. Ctrl+S = Save, Esc = Escape, Ctrl+Alt+Del = Windows Task Manager etc. Advantages: Keyboards have many advantages such as, they have special keys that perform specific functions, the arrow key situated on the bottom of the keyboard moves the cursor instead of having to move the mouse and keyboards are also less expensive because they come with every computer. Disadvantages: Keyboards also have some disadvantages such as, the person using the keyboard has to learn how to type and also the frequent movement from keyboard to move and back could cause carpal tunnel syndrome (A feeling of numbness, tingling, burning, or aching pain in the fingers when the nerves are compressed or damaged), or very similar, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). Hope This helped! I used it for my work! ><"
