- One or both parents were either mentally or physically abused themselves and it's a chain reaction that can be carried on from one generation to another.
- Drugs
- Alcohol
- Mental Disorders
- PostPartum Blues (after the baby is born hormones change in women and some women feel depressed and some women have killed their babies because of this change, but most don't. They simply are too depressed to cope and need help from husband and family.
- One parent that never wanted children in the first place.
- One of the adults where the child is not his or hers and may find that they can't stand the look of the child simply because it is not their own.
