The lion-tailed macaque is a good tree climber and it lives on the tree. it feeds mainly on fruits, seeds, tender leaves, stems, flowers and buds it also eats insects so it gets sufficient food on trees so its rarely comes to the ground to play or to splash in water.
Like most other species of Old World monkeys, lion-tailed macaques have handy cheek pouches for quick and easy sustenance storage. They routinely employ these convenient and roomy pouches
to keep their valuable findings away and safe from the prying eyes and grasps of others. Since they live high in the tree tops, this way of carrying food is very helpful.
When a lion-tailed macaque pushes out his lips and elevates his head, for example, he's basically sending over a courteous "hello." If you ever hear one of these guys yawning, however, watch out, as that is a proclamation of higher status and assertiveness. This another way they show that they belong here and you do not.
