What are the advantages and disadvantages of owning a pet?

Pros:

Companionship (most cats will snuggle up to you and sit in your lap, and they want to snuggle with you even when other humans spurn your company), purring, fun playing with the cat, cuteness... especially when they are kittens, but it lasts. :)

Cons:

Cats demand attention, cat hair on furniture and clothing, litter box smells, costs related to care and feeding. Responsibility: having to clean the litter box, get the cat spayed or neutered, feed the cat, etc. If you're allergic to cats, then that is another negative (although there are many allergy medications that can negate the symptoms).

No matter how long either list is, the relative value to you as an individual is what you need to measure. If you like cats, and feel that taking care of a cat is worth the companionship offered, then it is a good idea.

There are many reasons to own a dog such, but other people think they arent a good thing Dogs can increase your life span, because it triggers something in your body that tells your brain you are not alone Many people without a pet and that live alone usually die younger. Dogs need food to survive and that can cost you lots of money.SOme dogs shed, and some may be hyper or aggressive. Many dogs are stubborn and wont potty train. Dogs have a decent amout of curiosity, but some of it can lead to shreded pillows, couch cushions, shoes, socks, and blankets. They like to be nosey and try to eat anything that wont eat them first. All in all....dogs may be lovable creatures, but they can be a pain. Plus, if you have Allergies, you definetely dont want a dog.

not sure about pros,must b a personal opinion,but cons are that they poop everywhere,unless litter trained,and will chew EVERY wire they see..from experience... if u dont have them in a cage
