The advantage is the person could make their own decisions as to how they wish to conduct their life. The disadvantages might be that they would be responsible for those choices, would have to support themselves, food, shelter, medical care, transportation, etc., in short become an adult. There are indeed those times when being an adult is not very rewarding.
