the oil is not whipped by the crankshaft which causes drag and friction, not to mention it foams oil uo second the oil stay cooler in a remote oil tank and oil is not exposed to as much combustion blowy-by contamination. third if you are racing around turns with high g force the oil can lean in the pan and starve the oil pump momentarily
