In many cases digital gives a more precise answer. Specially in clamp on amps. However they are not best for everything. Below 50 volts DC, I find analog volt measuring is more accurate.

What is the principle of digital multimeter?

A: A VOM digital requires to have a ADC analogue to digital converter whereby the analogue input will be displayed as number representation. An analogue meter all it requires is to have is current flow through it.

What are the advantages of analog multimeter over digital multimeter?

The main advantage of a digital multimeter over an analog multimeter is their accuracy.AnswerDigital instruments are not necessarily more accurate than analogue instruments (although they often are), but they are far more robust and, usually, far easier to read without error. A digital multimeter has no moving parts and is unaffected by gravity, so they can be used at any angle, whereas analogue instruments needed to be placed on horizontal surfaces and not subjected to vibration.

Disadvantages vs advantages of digital techniques?

Advantages of Digital - ? Less expensive ? More reliable ? Easy to manipulate ? Flexible ? Compatibility with other digital systems ? Only digitised information can be transported through a noisy channel without degradation ? Integrated networks Disadvantages of Digital - ? Sampling Error ? Digital communications require greater bandwidth than analogue to transmit the same information. ? The detection of digital signals requires the communications system to be synchronised, whereas generally speaking this is not the case with analogue systems. Definition of Analogue - Analogue is a transmission standard that uses electrical impulses to emulate the audio waveform of sound. When you use a phone, the variations in your voice are transformed by a microphone into similar variations in an electrical signal and carried down the line to the exchange.
