You can use color to decorate your work without wasting ink or gel of any kind. You can also change the font to get a neat format and it is also easy nowadays to send it to others free of cost.

Most computers have spell and grammar checking software, which allows your writing to be more comprehensible. Computers also provide standardized fonts, where the same letter always looks the same; unlike handwriting, where there can be variations that can make your writing illegible. Finally, because typing incorporates both hands and all of your fingers, most people can type something on a computer, several times faster than if they were using a pencil and paper.

For starters, it's a lot faster and neater to type than to write by hand, and a lot less messier and noisier than a typewriter.

Having done both in my life, the typewriter, while nice to type with it's very much a novelty item nowadays. As far as handwriting, I could say the same with the prevalence of almost everything going paperless in the present, but compared to the other two, handwriting is way more portable (you only need to bring yourself and a pen/pencil as paper forms are still around) so I don't expect the practice to be out of fashion any time soon.
