The sheath in your groin will be removed and the insertion site closed. You will need to kept still, flat on your back, with your leg straight for l2 hours. This is the hardest part of the procedure. After effects could be infection, drainage from the site , inability to urinate, blood in the urine, severe pain, coldness or a bluish color where the catheter was inserted. I just had this procedure done this week. I am a 69 year old female with emphysema and I am just fine. I had a wonderful cardiologist who was superb. I had 4 stents put in and have to go back next week to have the right side done.
