Prpphet Muhammad(PBUH) married when he was 25 to his employer, namely, khadija who was 40 years of age. Khadija (may Allah be pleassed by her) was getting married for the third time and was the first woman to accept Islam.

1. Some say Khadija b Khuwaylid was 40, but this was probably to pay her the compliment of being a "wise" woman. Mohammed's cousin Abdullah b Abbas says she was only 26 or 27. Mohammed, her third husband, was 24. She was his only wife for 25 years, and then she died.

2. Ayesha b Abi Bakr was about 6 when she legally married Mohammed, who was 49. They did not live together immediately; by the time the marriage was consummated, Ayesha was 9 and Mohammed was 52. Ayesha was never married to anyone but Mohammed.

3. The age of Sawda b Zamaa is not recorded. She married Mohammed, her second husband, when he was 49. She was probably about ten years younger.

4. Hafsa b Omar was 19. Mohammed, her second husband, was 54.

5. Zaynab b Khuzayma was 28, plus or minus a year or two. Mohammed, her fifth husband, was 54. She died after only a few months.

23. Al-Shanbaa b Amr married Mohammed legally when he was 61 and she was of childbearing age. He divorced her before consummation, and it is not known what happened to her afterwards.

24. Qutayla (aka Habla) b Qays married Mohammed legally when he was 61, but he died while she was still on the way to the wedding, so they never met in person. Her age is not known, but she was probably a teenager. She then remarried twice more.
