A Watt's indicator mechanism (also known as Watt's straight line mechanism or double lever mechanism) which consists of four links. The four links are : fixed link at A, link AC, link CE and link BFD.The displacement of the link BFD is directly proportional to the pressure of gas or steam which acts on the indicator plunger.
There are four links in the slider crank mechanism.
Inversion of a mechanism is done by fixing a different link each time and studying the motion of the other links therefore.
uses of crank rocker mechanism
one of its application is in shaping machine cok gusel
Inversion of a kinematic linkage or mechanism is observing the motion of the members of the mechanism with fixing different links as reference frame. Each time when a different link is chose as the frame link the mechanism shows different characteristics of the motion.

first inversion-Reciprocating engine and recriprocating compressor second inversion-whit worth motion mechanism and rotary engine third inversion-oscillating cylinder and crank and slotted lever mechanism fourth inversion-hand pump
There are four links in the slider crank mechanism.
Fusible link
A mechanism of four links in which two cranks are of the same length connected by a connecting rod and the final link is fixed to maintain a constant centre to centre distance between the cranks. example- connection between two wheels of a locomotive.
