Some religions, like Hinduism, Sikhism, and some branches of Buddhism, may not bow their heads during prayer. In these traditions, prayer practices vary and may not necessarily include the physical act of bowing.
Rites are not important in most religions and not used in most religions.
"When the Tao is lost, there is goodness. When goodness is lost, there is morality. When morality is lost, there is ritual. Ritual is the husk of true faith, the beginning of chaos." As religions get old, they become more and more rites and rituals and rules oriented. They start out as Divine Love, and end as rites, rituals, and rules.
Rites? Do you mean Rituals? I don't speak for all Pentecostal Churches but I can tell you that all rituals have a ruler. Rites or rituals are performed for or to someone or something. I personally don't know about your rites but ask yourself are they performed to Jesus? If it's not Jesus, then it's idolatry (per the word). God Bless You!

However dealing with Rome itself, there were, in addition to small local cults, three main cults that could be considered religions in that they had set rites and rituals and days of celebration. These were the cults of Mithra, Cybele, and Isis.
If there are different kinds of religions there are different kinds of rites of passage.
