I can only speak for the spirits I use personally. Each and every practitioner uses spirits specific to their own traditions and paths.

I call the guardians of Earth, the gnomes, Brother Wolf, in the North; the guardians if Air, the sylphs and the zephyrs, Brother Hawk, in the East; the guardians of Fire, the flame dancers, Brother Salamander, in the South; the guardians of Water, the undines and the naiads, Brother Orca in the West; and the guardians of Spirit, the unicorn, Brother Grouse, in the Centre.

I also call personal guides, helpers and spirits for specific needs or rituals.
