Loads of badges! Think of an activity and theirs a badge for it! I have four badges but a friend of mine has seven badges! their is eight more different badges you can earn in my troop some of them are more difficult to get and that makes it fun caus you really want to get them. The more badges you get the cooler you are with your friends and other scouts.
First of all, choose the badge you want to earn.
Second, read through the badge requirements.
Third, complete the requirements, making sure you complete all the required steps.
Last, share the work you have done with the troop or group leader so that they may record that you have completed the requirements and order the badge for you.

2nd Grade - Wolf

5th Grade - Arrow of light
Wolved and Bears, once they have earned the rank badge, can work on arrow points that are worn under the badge for the year they are earned.
They also have several other badges they can earn such as the outdoor achievement award, the summer time activituy award, the world concervation award, and the leave no trace award. They also frequently get "temporary patches" for attending events which can be worn on the uniform.
They also can earn beltloops and pins.
Webelos work on activity badeges that are won on a ribbon displayed on their shoulders.

No there is not, merit badges for Boy Scouts are earned by completing certain sets of skills and having them signed off by instructors and scout masters/leaders. You cannot achieve a badge just by going to a certain area. Cub Scout rules may vary on this.
This depends on your interests and the available badges. The best Girl Scout badge to earn is one that you are interested in and can complete by following the badge requirements. Many Girl Scouts like to start with on of the badges which covers learning about Girl Scouts - "The Girl Scout Way".
