Very few aside from a generaly more interesting menu at the diner table. it isn't until the foreingn influence has been watered down by one or two generations that the negatives from both the locals and the imigrants start to die down. Especialy where very poor or very religious cultures are concerned.

Should america be a melting pot?

Whether it should be or not is immaterial. It is a "melting pot"
of all nationalities. This as noted is entirely correct. It should
be and has been a "melting pot" for the purpose of inclusion of
minorities into the mainstream of USA society. This reinforces the
goal of a harmonious and fair society. "Melting" benefits the USA
and new people entering the nation.

How does melting pot different from a mosaic?

A mosaic is when different pieces, largely insignificant
themselves, are fit together in order to make some sort of picture
or image or other artsy presentation). A melting pot is where
different pieces come together to form a single type. Whereas a
mosaic may include many different types of, say, pottery to form a
picture, a melting pot would melt and mix several types of metal to
create a stronger, or weaker, metal.
As it pertains to society, one might say a mosaic society
celebrates the differences in its people and the different cultures
it may contain while a melting pot society would seek to remove
those differences and create a single national identity.

How does community affects the society?

A society can have many communities. Some are based on geography
or politics, ex. a city. Some are based on cultures, ex, Latino
community. Some are based on age, ex. retirement community. All
communities make up parts of society. A local society can affect
the State, Regional, or National society and overall community. The
key problem for society is how to combine the often conflicting
opinions and goals of communities and fairly distribute resources
and benefits, as well as share the workload to secure resources or
benefits.
