imagine a world where people do things based on right or wrong instead of "The Bible told me so." It is a lot easier to be able to commit a good deed or act of kindness based on your personal beliefs rather than having remorse and asking yourself "what would jesus do?" I use a lot of reference toward Christianity however I implement this idea to all religions young and old. There is a lot less stress in secularism than being bound by a book or text. Knowing you can get along with the other people on this planet without being bound by these texts allows you to be self-motivated to do the right thing on your own.
Think of it like this. Religion is like a coffee filter. Sure, you get what you want out of it, but are you getting the full taste? If you take away that filter you can "taste" so much more, and you'll wonder why you never did it in the first place.
