There is no reason to be short with a Cashier unless you are not being helped.
For your cash drawer to be short, it can usually be attributed to the change process. Always keep the big bills on top of the register until the change has been counted back to the customer to avoid dispute. Always count the change to yourself while you gather it up and then count it back to the customer the correct way. example, Start with their total (6.94) out of 20.00. Say 6.94 (plus a penny is) 6.95 (plus a nickle is) 7.00 (plus a dollar 3x is) 8,9,10 (plus a 10 is) and 10 makes 20. If you do all of this and your drawer is more than a dollar off, then it usually is the manager's fault. Ask to count your drawer before and after your shift. Most companies want you to do this, and if your manager puts up a fuss saying we are to busy, he is probably stealing your money. The best way to solve this is to quit.
