No, speaking as a preteen myself we like to have a large amount of privacy. But if they are being clingy it is probably about friends or guys. But do not try and talk it out with them. It is just awkward. I know child physicologists say that it is best for the child but the truth is it is embaressing and hard to talk to your parents about stuff like that. So not talking about it is probably best for the preteens confidence.
