If you are looking to gain weight and are not allergic to nuts, then nuts are the best way to go. Used to weight 145 lbs. After 2 or 3 months of nuts, I went to 160 lbs. I have a stubborn body that normally hates gaining weight. My body met its match when it came to nuts. Now, you have to buy Massive Kilogram bags. Aim to eat about 2KG per week or 4KG if you regularly work out. Nuts are high in Fat about 50%. Fat is the substance which is highest in calories, 25 cal/g whereas protein/carbs are 4 cal/g. You gain weight by eating lots of calories. If you can think of any other substance which is more than 50% fat, then go with that substance. But I'm telling I'm genetically superior as to not gain weight yet nuts defeated me, and I was much happier with my weight afterwords.
A vegeterian diet, fruits, nuts, veggies, and possibly bread. I doubt one will have to worry about their weight.

You don't gain weight in order to get muscle. You overload your muscles with heavy weight training, and then eat more to fuel the muscle growth.
I think juicy cheeseburger is best after weight work out.
