Working clockwise from the its northernmost point, New Jersey's boundaries are New York (across land to the Hudson River down through Upper New York Bay and along the Kill Van Kull,

a tidal strait along Staten Island's western border, to the Atlantic Ocean). At its southernmost point, Cape May, New Jersey's boundary is the Delaware border it shares along the Delaware Bay and the Delaware River. Its boundary thereafter remains the Delaware River, its western border, which it shares first with Delaware

then Pennsylvania until the junction where New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey meet-- the state's northernmost point.
