10.1 = Puma
10.2 = Jaguar
10.3 = Panther
10.4 = Tiger
10.5 = Leopard
10.6 = Snow Leopard
10.7 = Lion
10.8 = Mountain Lion
'Montage making software' would just be any video editing software. For Macs, iMovie is a really good video editing software and comes standard with all Macs.

All macs come new with iTunes and if set properly can be set to download all of the frequent free software updates to the software that apple makes available.

Macs have always been popular in the education sector because a lot of educational software was developed specifically for Macs. Many schools who decided to use Macs early have continued to work with them. Schools also often prefer to use Apple Macs because of their reliability and ease of use for students. Because Apple makes both the hardware and software with Macs, there are few problems that arise over the Mac's life.
the big macs have different names in other countries so they can have yummy big macs too.

There are several companies who manufacture Publisher software for use with Macs. The iWork program by Apple receives good reviews for their software, as does the Printfolio by BeLight Software.
The only video game writing software for Macs I know of is XCode, which is an extensive programming suite designed by apple for software development on Macs, but that's not specifically for video game writing. Best start learning Java or wait for the full release of Game Maker 7 for Macs. (Which is in fact being developed as I type this)
Not yet, but admins there are "Saying" that they are working on it. It will be available for Macs but not for a while. Macs are good though. Great RAM, Hard drive, and OS.
