If you mean catholic (with a lower-case "c") in the sense of "universal," the teachings of James, 1&2 Peter, 1, 2 & 3 John and Jude are applicable to Christians at large as opposed to a specific person or congregation (even though 2 and 3 John are addressed to individuals, their teachings broadly apply to all believers). As a group, these books are often referred to as the "general epistles."

From a Roman Catholic Point of View, as regards the Old Testament (GN 1-11a) nothing in science contradicts scripture viewed with the understanding of the authors in mind. As in terms of the Miracles in the NT... that is FAITH, not fact. Search for fact and you destroy faith.

I don't believe any chapter of Scripture names the total number of books in the Bible. Today, there are 66 books - 39 OT and 27 NT. Originally there were 49 books - 22 OT and 27 NT. Politics perhaps but the content has not changed.
