Several issues could be related to coolant:

  • Low/no coolant
  • Burnt out/overly diluted coolant
  • Poor coolant flow due to restriction in the system
  • Poor heat transfer due to poor air flow through the radiator
  • Thermostat not opening up properly
  • Water pump not operating correctly

The fan may be another issue. For mechanical fans, you could be looking at a faulty fan clutch, a loose or slipping fan belt, damaged fan fins, poorly fitted or damaged fan shroud. For electronic fans, could be damaged fan blades, bad fan motors, or a fault in the circuit.
