Red is a primary colour, pink is made by adding white to red.

The above answer is based on obsolete theory. It is wrong. Mix magenta and yellow, just like color computer printers do. Dilute them or add white to make pink.

This is simple. First of all, you should make a light pink by getting a dollop of red paint and gradually adding white to it. Once you have made a rosy colour, then add more red to the mixture until bright enough to make the colour you wish to use.

A true pink is a mixture of Red and White, the proportions will determine the depth of colour.

Salmon pink will have a small amount of yellow added to the mix.

Hot pink will have less white and just a hint of blue to make the colour pop.
