Dingoes are characteristically a sandy-ginger colour, sometimes tending towards red-ginger. They usually have a white chest. Pure-bred dingoes are never any other colour. They are not grey or black, although occasionally albino dingoes are bred. Since European settlement, dingo populations have been penetrated by wild dogs, so other colours do tend to be evident in dingoes which are not purebred.
