There were none. Comic books began in 1933 with Famous Funnies #1, and the early ones only reprinted comic strips from the newspapers. In the later 1930s, comic books started printing new stories, but most of them were standard detective stories, westerns, or humor. The first comic book superhero was Superman, who first appeared in Action Comics #1, dated June 1938.
