Many states had passed laws regulating child labor, minimum wages, and working conditions.
331.3 Age and employment, Children - Employment, (Child labor)
Until child labor laws were created, child labor was cheap labor and working in very bad conditions was the norm. Factory owners got cheap labor, which increased their profits considerably.
what is the difference between slave labor and free labor
i am pretty sure child labor is worst in India and places in Africa
The South primarily needed free labor in the form of slaves to pick cotton and provide other forms of menial labor; the North wanted to industrialize, utilizing child labor at ridiculously low wages and dangerous, sometimes deadly, working conditions.
slave labor was more important
Slave Labor was needed
a ban on child labor labor laws better working conditions representation to the management
Wrote book about child labor and conditions they faced. Had photographs of children on the job. people saw this book and took it to government. Gov eventualy passed child labor laws! :)
Government labor laws define how old an individual must be to be involved in wage labor. There are also laws pertaining to working conditions, maximum number of hours worked, and so forth. Enforcing these laws is not always an easy exercise. There are children who are hidden away and forced to perform slave labor under horrible working condtions.
