The criteria for the Nobel Peace Prize include promoting fraternity between nations, advancing disarmament and arms control, or working to solve conflicts through diplomacy and peaceful negotiations. The recipient should also have made a significant contribution to the reduction of standing armies or to the establishment and promotion of peace congresses.
