China being an Asian country and Chinese in background and Australia being Western and traces back to English roots, there is a vast amount of differences in the two cultures.

China being a communist country while Australia is not is one of the main differences. Governments are run differently. Shop owners think differently. The people think differently.

Chinese in general are more conservative while Australians are more open-minded about things in general life. Chinese do things with the thought of saving face in the back of their minds. While Australians do the same, in a way, it is not nearly at the same level as the Chinese.

The standard of living would be vastly different as well. Salary's are much higher in Australia when compared to China. There are still apartments where there are a minimum of three generations under one roof in China. While, it's not unheard of in Australia, it's also not the norm.

Nomadic homanids roamed China for around 850,000 years. Around 5,000 years ago, a group settled down and became farmers. For the Chinese, this point is generally marked as the beginning of the Chinese civilisation. For 50,000 years, nomadic humans roamed Australia. Between 500 and 300 years ago, Chinese, Dutch, Portuguese, Indonesian and Spanish reached Australia, took a look around and then kept sailing. Almost two centuries ago, the English arrived, took a look around and decided Australia would make a great place to punish criminals. For the next 80 years, England dumped its Convicts in Australia. The type of criminals dumped in Australia were very similar to the type of people that supported Chairman Mao in the communist uprising. They were political rebels, communists and the poor who lacked food to eat. Although the histories of China and Australia are very different, they have produced some commonalities. For example, the Chinese have frequently gone to war on their own culture and their own people in the name of social equality. Australians have done likewise.
