The differences are that different sites, offer different beliefs and the sets of people, who go there normally differ due to the fact that they have different aims in life, which they want to achieve, e.g. healed from a illness, changing attitudes towards society to gain inner happiness, etc. All religions have an aim, which is to strengthen and enhance people's faith in God, however the only difference here is that they go through methods and processes to do this and the sites of pilgrimage, although may have the same ethos and aim, may use techniques, such as using heritage sites, to do this. However, remember that the core foundations of all religions are the same and over time have been adapted to suit society's needs.

What are some differences between Islam and Judaism and how could this lead to conflict?

The main differences between Islam and Judaism are:Muslims believe in all God prophets including Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Ishmael, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, ..., Jesus, and Muhammad. Jews believe in all prophets except Jesus and Muhammad.Muslims believe in all God holy books including Psalms, Torah, the Bible, and Quran. Jews don't believe in Quran. There are other differences in ritual worships and what is forbidden to eat and what is allowed. The above shows that both religions are different only in some faith issues that are regarding the relationship between yourself and your God which is a matter to be resolved by God on the Day of Judgment. However, both religions are quite similar in all issues regarding relationships among all people. In reality, there are no differences between the two religions regarding the way that people of different religions should treat each other. This, logically and spiritually, calls all people to live together in love, peace, and harmony regardless their different religions or beliefs.Accordingly, You never expect that religion differences lead to any conflict between the two religions. All conflicts were and are and will be just due to political, economical, and imperial reasons but may be justified by claimed religious reasons.
