The Jewish story was written by its people. The Christian story begin with the Jewish story and incorporating it as their own, taking the Pagan churches and calling them their own, taking the Pagan holidays and renaming them as their own. 300 years after Jesus, Constantine took the winter solace holiday and pronounced it Jesus birthday. Easter was as a Pagan celebration of Eastre, the goddess of fertility and springtime but this group of Pagans became Christians and this holiday was incorporated. Basically, Christian history has been taking what works and using it.
