You may be asking this question because you heard that birds who eat seed in captivity die earlier or whatnot. It's because birds in captivity don't spend all day flying around, like their friends int he wild do. hey therefore lose less calories in a day. So seeds, which are very fatty, cause them to gain more pounds, and eventually the bird becomes obese and obtains the health problems that come with it. And everything goes down from there.
