there are many diffrent roles for a gamma
hunters- get food for the pack
scouts- patrol the territory and have a decent amount of battle skills though they are known for speed more than anything

healers- gather herbs and use them to help the sick wolves
fighters- are know for speed and ferocity it is a great honor to be a fighter they fight to drive out other packs
defenders- are heavily built and powerfull they fight if another pack is atacking them
queens are the females who have or are expecting pups, though nomaly a few females stay queens even if they are not expecting or nursing pups they help out the she wolves who have pups
priors are the old wolves who can't Cary out there duty in the pack they help make decisions
tyros are gammas in traning they are apreantanced to one of the gammas or if they are lucky to a delta, beta, or very rarely an alpha
the omega is the weakest wolf in the pack it is very submisive and thoughtfull it offers good advice to the wolves wise enough to take it
hope that helps:)
Wolf packs don't really have ranks beyond 'breeding male', 'breeding female' and omega. The breeding pair is also known as the alphas, and typically are the only two to breed, and the other wolves in the pack are typically their children. A few wolves might 'take over' their parents pack, and let their siblings continue living in it. The omega, of course, is the weakest wolf, who often get's picked on the most, and will usually end up being driven out to become a dispersal (or lone) wolf.
The other wolves in the pack don't really have a rank, and don't have any privleges above each other. Sometimes a stronger one might snap at a weaker one, but that's about as far as superiority gets among the non-alpha and non-omega wolves.
