For those in the academic arena, it helps to know what to listen for to be able to answer the questions needed of course for a test, or when in a discussion of a given subject matter to know what answers to give, and or ask a suitable question that is related to the topic.

So it does take careful discernment in listening and to know the difference between each, as the conscience is what God has given you to listen to for decisions to make, and if you have been able to train that conscience with faith in God you should be able to make right and wise decisions from that. So there are many different purposes of listening and I am sure these must be only a few of the main purposes of such that God has granted us to have the ability to do. One obvious one I just now realized is for parenting, newborns, and young children as well as older ones, listening to the sounds made, or perhaps absence of can tell the parent a lot of things, i.e. the need of the child, and or the need of the parent to intercede in whatever the situation might be.
