∙ 16y agoThere are many modalities and specialties in Massage Therapy. They can be divided into two basic approaches, Eastern and Western. Eastern styles are also called Asian; such as, Ayurvedic, Thai, Tui Na, Acupressure, and Shiatsu. All of these have a common philosophy of energy centers and energy lines of the body. The Western styles include the more mechanical and circulatory approaches, such as, Swedish, European, American, Rolfing, lymphatic drainage, and sports massage.
