Because of it's dimensions
When you triple the dimensions of a flat (2-dimensional) shape, the area increases by (3)2 = 9 times. When you triple the dimensions of a solid (3-dimensional) shape, the volume increases by (3)3 = 27 times.
Those dimensions would correspond to a two-car garage.
The perimeter will be tripled.
generally 24' x 24'
Someone can buy torsion springs for a garage door from DDM Garage Doors, Century Spring, and Garside Garage Doors. There are different types of torsion springs for a garage door and they all come with different dimensions as well.

The area increases to 9 times as much.
Most that I've seen are 12 x 24 feet.
400 metres once around the whole thing
Any one dimension increased by 3, or any two dimensions increased by the square root of 3 or all three dimensions increased by the cube root of 3.
It really depends on how big the garage is, as there is no standard size for a garage, although I will "guesstimate". Based on the width of two cars, and some allowance for space between the cars and the walls, I would say about 6 to 6.5 metres wide.
