From the FDA website:
Although the potential benefits are considerable, the use of xenotransplantation raises concerns regarding the potential infection of recipients with both recognized and unrecognized infectious agents and the possible subsequent transmission to their close contacts and into the general human population. Of public health concern is the potential for cross-species infection by retroviruses, which may be latent and lead to disease years after infection. Moreover, new infectious agents may not be readily identifiable with current techniques.
The disadvantages of xenotransplantation: When you transfer the organ to another species this can give them an animal virus. There is an unknown virus which scientists don't know about.

Xenotransplantation is the transfer of living cells, tissues and/or organs from non-human animal species into humans. Technically it could be the other way around or between any two species. Xenotransplantation is currently not a recognized medical practice in industrialized countries, but has the potential to encompass a broad spectrum of applications.

ADVANTAGERS AND DISADVANTAGERS OF GPS i dont no why do you ppl have so many questions?
It is a question of morals. Is it right to transplant animal cells, tissues or organs into humans?
Well, the huge disadvantage is that they do not work when used for animal-to-human transplantation (xenotransplantation), compared to allotransplantation (human-to-human). The other main disadvantage is the risk of transmitting diseases from animals to humans. Please see related link on xenotransplantation for further details.
