Corian is the registered trademark of the DuPont company. It is a countertop made of acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate. Corian countertops are very good products and seem to be quite durable. They are usually custom made which means no seams and come in thousands of colors. The con would be that the newest fad is stone or granite and corian cannot be made to look like those products.

Ceramic tile, faux granite, marble, faux marble, butcher block. I've seen stainless steel (pricey). My favorite, corian. There are also corian types. We have something like corian, but cheaper and I think better. There are probably others but these are what I can think of.
